Irreplacable. (:
We all started out so so young, in 2006 (maybe not for Shaun 'cus he was one year older HAHA) stepping into the classroom of C404, not knowing what to expect from the teacher we at first feared, Mdm Toh Siew Lan. Her eyes, so mathematically scary. Personally, she aimed me and Kenneth just because we were from NCC. Gradually, Jem, Rance, Syam and the gang joined the fray. Mund was sabotaged to be the chairman and Ruth, the vice-chairman. And so the story begins. 2 years would pass before our eyes, but we just didn't know it.
Classes after classes we wreaked havoc, and before we knew it, teachers started complaining about us. Who can actually forget Teo Swee Lee and her lame attempts to each us speed & acceleration for 2 months. And so what if Lim Sin Heng was brought in to try to salvage what could have been? IT DIDN'T MATTER. Kennedy was constantly being aimed by him (I seriously don't know why) but at that time, nobody could bring us down!
For those who took Lim Biwei's Bio classes, you guys know too, how we caused more trouble with her. Not giving a crap about sketch books and whatever. Come to think about it, our Science teachers kept changing and changing! Even for Chem, that Ang Kailly migrated 'cus she was scared by us (nut) and Mdm Haliza HAHA. How she would go on about ZAP (Amphoteric oxides) but we would just be indulging in our own conversations.
Competitions came and gone. We owned and pwned or whatever you wanna call it. Other classes watched in awe, wondering where did we get our talents. But I'd rather put it as pure TEAMWORK and CAMERADERIE. Sports day, Interclass games, whatever whatever but the moral of the story is that we won MODEL CLASS for two years straight? I think we should get some award for being some POWER class la. Seriously, I wouldn't think any class would be able to achieve that. Haha!
But what do we go to school for? Studies, at the end of the day. I'm sure none of us actually gave a damn about studies lah, so at least I'm talking for the guys! Days after school where we would rush like hound dogs to Queensway's LAN, trying to get seats just to play that one or two games of DotA when we would have End Of Years looming around the corner. Skipping remedials and extra lessons, telling teachers that we were sick, hell I miss those innocent times. Who ever would actually do such stuff, tell me.
I'm sure most of us did not do so well in our End of Years right. It was quite evident, most of us were called in for our extra lessons and such. And we were so worried losing people like Julien and both the Bens because they were down for retaining Sec3 again. Our class wouldn't be the same without them, I'm too damn sure about that. And who can forget? Our dear class chairman, having his eye injured and us going all the way to his place to pick him up to go to school. Haha oh the times, where we would be there for each other :)
And so 2006 passed in a flash, a year whereby we hadn't realised the importance of one another YET. So much stuff happened, and yes! The class chalet in December, who can forget! Yes, it might have been quite a failure because of the lack of space the guys had, but come on! What's a chalet without the weird kind of fun we would have huh! So we all broke up (is that the correct word) for our holidays till January.
So 2007 came, all of us were the seniors of the school. With our white name tags, we'd go around stamping our authority on whatever we saw interesting. That also meant we were Sec4s now, and it also meant that we'd be taking our O's. But we'd say, so what the O's? There's always the Prelims first right. Hahahaha, the fun we had was always irreplacable. From having the roughest of times during PE lessons, to just running around chemistry labs making your friend's shirts wet to just coming to school early to hang out at our school lockers to getting scolded by HODs that our lockers were being drawn in crayon.
The first half of the year passed too fast for any our liking, and so May reached and before we knew it, the Mid Years arrived and we were taking our first O level paper. That also meant that we were going for our respective Service Learning trips! Even though we separated for our different trips, when we came back, we had so much to catch up on and we had the chance to do so because of... S2E HAHA!
The second part of 2007 was definitely the more emotional one you see. Where everyone was preparing for the prelims and all. Which also meant that our stint with each other was coming to an abrupt end, so all in all, we tried to do so much with the rest of our time. And of course the guys, would play soccer and continue playing LAN. And at times, where we would get scolded by our parents because we should've been STUDYING but instead, indulging yourself in the virtual world ;)
The last day of school was definitely a memorable one for me, where all of us would gather just to take plenty of pictures and all as if there's no tomorrow. Where all the boys would just "hey take picture leh, okay now smile, okay now give gangster face, okay now give sad face!" and the girls would just huddle up being themselves taking pictures at the foyer, canteen, everywhere la! I really misss it badlyyy :(
And the days that led up to the big O's, it definitely was something we wouldn't forget huh? I'm sure everyone was there for each other and that's just the making of a great class. Those early mornings where we would come by the lockers just attempting to cram whatever facts we can into our brain before it was too late. Where some people just came to leech off other people's facts and some others were just too willing to share their notes around :)
When it was all over, hell, everything broke loose. We were so happy the Gods were shouting for us. Hahaha! Then after that last paper, THE NEXT DAY was the class chalet! Hahaha and it was even more fun :) Where we spent our night cycling to Changi Village and going through streets just to find the LAN shop and the days when we would stone at the first floor and just let time pass by till night came. Haha! Man, those were the times :)
As we all move on with our own lives, I'm sure 4B still lingers in our hearts time and time again. The memories we had would be truly irreplacable y'know. Those who have just ended their promos, time for you to rock! And those who're in Poly, well time to get back to school and get cracking! I just hope that we will all stay in touch in the coming years, and do contribute k! Mund is trying his best to organize a chalet so help him out! Love all of you, 4Bians :)
Yours truly,
#1,
Amar
Best video ever made? haha
Don't know if you guys have seen this video yet, so enjoy!
They actually featured Singapore at 3.39!! :)
History of video:
In February of 2003, he (Matt) quit his job in Brisbane, Australia and used the money he'd saved to wander around Asia until it ran out. He made this site so he could keep his family and friends updated about where he is.
A few months into his trip, a travel buddy gave Matt an idea. They were standing around taking pictures in Hanoi, and his friend said "Hey, why don't you stand over there and do that dance. I'll record it." He was referring to a particular dance Matt does. It's actually the only dance Matt does. He does it badly. Anyway, this turned out to be a very good idea.
A couple years later, someone found the video online and passed it to someone else, who passed it to someone else, and so on. Now Matt is quasi-famous as "That guy who dances on the internet. No, not that guy. The other one. No, not him either. I'll send you the link. It's funny."
The response to the first video brought Matt to the attention of the nice people at Stride gum. They asked Matt if he'd be interested in taking another trip around the world to make a new video. Matt asked if they'd be paying for it. They said yes. Matt thought this sounded like another very good idea.
